Time Tracking
If you are a Premium Pro user, you will be able to track time for each of your work sessions for standard plans. Follow the instructions for logging progress on standard plans. Once you click on the notes icon, you will see screen showing the ability to log progress notes and log the time it took to enter that progress.
Logging time is easy: you can log a specific time range or a time duration that you worked in plain or short hand English. Pacemaker will automatically calculate the duration given your inputs. Here are some example of valid time entries:
- Described time ranges
- 1 hour 5 minutes
- 6 hours and 42 minutes
- Abbreviated time ranges
- 7h
- 3hrs
- 2mins
- 0.4 hrs
- Start and End Times
- 9am to 2pm
- 12pm to 12:30pm
- 13:00 to 16:00
- 10am - 11am
- A single number
- 34 - this will be interpreted as 34 minutes
The lowest unit of time that Pacemaker will recognize is 1 minute.
Since Pacemaker lets you log multiple work sessions per day, you should not log a time range greater than 24 hours for any given session or across all sessions in any given day.
With these logs, you can track the total time you've spent on your plan and the average work done per hour. Averages are calculated only based on progress entries that have a time associated with them. These stats can help you plan similar projects in the future based on the actual time you took to complete various kinds of work.
Here is an example of what your progress entry page would look like after time logs are submitted.
