Stats and Heatmap
Pacemaker keeps a record of every bit of progress you log, and turns it into stats that help you understand how — and when — you actually work. Stats are a Premium feature (Lite and Pro). This article covers the three places you'll find them: your account-wide Stats tab, the activity heatmap, and each plan's own Stats tab.
Your Account-wide Stats tab
Open the Stats tab on your dashboard to see "Your Pacemaker Stats" — insights pooled from every plan you've logged progress on since you created your Pacemaker account.

For Pacemaker Free users, a dialog box will appear noting that the feature is available for Premium account only but you can access a demo of how it works on the Premium stats information page.
Filters
Across the top you can narrow what you're looking at:
- Plans — totals across all plans, split by plan, or a single plan
- Content — e.g. only your Novel work
- Activity — e.g. only Writing, or only Editing
- Unit — e.g. only words, or only hours
- Group by — day or month
- Timeframe — last week, month, year, all time, or a custom date range
Key numbers
At a glance you'll see summary tiles such as:
- Total Plans you've made progress on
- Time tracked (if you use time tracking)
- Busiest Day of Week
- Most logged amount by unit (e.g. total words logged), with a tile per unit
Graphs
Below the tiles, Pacemaker charts your activity:
- Activity over time — how much you did across the timeframe
- Totals across all your plans - The amount of progress you’ve made in each plan combined
- Day-of-week activity — with a plain-English insight like "You log progress most often on Sunday but you do the most work on Saturday."
- Monthly activity — when you group by month
- Plans table — every plan with progress and its total work done, linked so you can jump straight to it
Charts can be downloaded as images using the toolbar icon on each graph.

The Activity Heatmap
The heatmap is a two-year calendar where each day is shaded by how much you did — lighter for a little, deep purple for your biggest days. It's the fastest way to see streaks, gaps, and your overall rhythm at a glance.
- Hover any square for the detail, e.g. "Monday, Jan 5th: 1,200 words."
- Use the unit selector to switch which measurement you're viewing (*"Viewing activity logged in words across 4 plans"*) when your plans use different units.
Free accounts can see a preview of the heatmap with an invitation to upgrade; the live, personalized heatmap is a Premium feature.
To access it, click on your username in the upper right corner to open your individual dashboard.

From there, click the Stats tab at the top.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the heatmap.

Per-plan stats
For Premium users, each of your plans has its own Stats tab with reflection stats specific to that plan:

Work
- Daily average
- Weekly average
- Weekday average
- Weekend average
Time tracked (shown when you've tracked time on the plan — a Pro feature)
- Total time spent
- Average work per hour
- Daily, weekly, weekday, and weekend time averages
These update automatically as you log progress, so you always see a current read on your pace.
Why no stats yet?
If a plan or timeframe shows "No progress to show," it just means nothing's been logged there yet — log some progress and your stats will populate. Stats require a Premium subscription; on a free account you'll be pointed to the Premium Stats info page, where you can explore a live demo.
