Creating and Managing Projects

A Project is a container that groups related plans together — like a folder. They're handy when you want to organize your work into logical collections, such as: freelance vs. personal, one folder per client, or all the plans that make up a single big deliverable.

For the difference between a plan and a project, see Plans vs Projects.

Creating a project

  1. Go to the project creation page (or open the Projects tab on your dashboard and create a new one).
  2. Give your project a Name (up to 50 characters).
  3. Optionally add a Short Tagline (up to 50 characters) and/or a Description (up to 1,000 characters).
  4. Choose whether to make the project private. Private projects aren't discoverable elsewhere on the site.
  5. Click Save This Project.

Adding a plan to a project

You can add any of your saved plans to a project from the plan itself:

  1. Open the plan and make sure it's saved first.
  2. In the plan toolbar, open the Join menu and choose Add to Project.

  1. This opens the plan's editor. Alternatively, you can click the Edit button to the left of Save and Join.

On the left hand side, there are a series of panels. The first two panels are Plan Info and Plan Description. Within the Plan Info panel, you'll see a Project Organization section.

  1. Pick an existing project from the dropdown, or choose Add to new project to create one on the spot by typing a name.

You can also add a plan directly from the Project

A plan can belong to more than one project. Projects the plan belongs to are listed at the top of the plan page.

Removing a plan from a project

In the same section, each project the plan belongs to is listed with a remove icon. Click it to take the plan out of that project. (The plan itself is not deleted — it just leaves the project.)

Archiving or deleting a project

On a project's edit page you can:

  • Archive This Project — tuck a finished project away (and Reopen it later).
  • Delete This Project — permanently remove the project. This can't be undone. Deleting a project does not delete the plans inside it.

Privacy

Projects follow the same privacy rules as the rest of your account. With a Premium (Lite + Pro) subscription you can mark a project private so it won't appear on community pages. See Public and Private Items.
